Hair trends sure seem to go from one extreme to the other very quickly and half the time you could end up giving yourself whiplash trying to keep up with them all. For many years now women have been taking flat irons to their hair because the sleeker and glossier you could get your long, straight hair the better. It seemed like ever since stars like Jen Aniston traded in layered cuts like “The Rachel” for long, straight and sleek dos the look took hold and never let go.
But, guess what, ladies? It’s time to put away those flat irons for a while at least because there’s a new long hair trend this season and to put it succinctly, the bigger, the better. Yes, models for many of the hot fall shows such as Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs took to the runway with big, beautiful locks that had been fluffed up to unapologetic levels of volume. Think of an updated version of Jaclyn Smith in “Charlie’s Angels” and you’ll have an idea of the big, loose, billowy curls that are dominating this fall. Start with one of the fabulous new volumizing shampoos such as Pantene’s Volume Shampoo, which contains collagen for lift. Next, roll your hair with the largest hot rollers you can find and then tease your curls when you remove the rollers and spray with a volumizing hair spray to keep that big hair all day long.
